Discover Project Active’s Seated Yoga class
Join us on Wednesday at 12:00 at Bloomsbury Campus for Seated Yoga
What to expect at Project Active Seated Yoga
Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga. It is a modified version of traditional yoga that involves exploring poses while seated or using a chair for support. It includes yoga poses, meditation and breathing techniques. Chair yoga is a great option for people with mobility limitations. The class begins with breath awareness and guided breathing exercise, followed by a sequence of modified yoga poses mobilising the whole body.
The benefits of chair yoga are improved flexibility, improved strength, reduced stress, improved pain management skills and better sleep. This session is suitable for wheelchair users as well as those with (or without!) mobility limitations. Yoga poses will be modified so that they can be done whilst seated in a chair. In addition to a good stretch, chair yoga participants can also enjoy other health benefits of yoga, including improved muscle tone, better breathing habits, stress reduction, better sleep and an improved sense of well-being!
NO previous experience required! A qualified Chair Yoga instructor will be on hand to guide you through the session.
