What are we all about?
The Community Research Initiative works to create ways for voluntary, community and non-profit organisations to collaborate with our top quality students. This is part UCL's commitment to working with and for its local community. Co-designing and working in partnership on research is part of this.
We'll help you to draft a research idea that will lead to useful and usable outcomes for you. This can then be executed through a student's academic work in their master's, or through an voluntary piece of research they complete in addition to their course. Whether you know exactly what you want to research, have no idea, or you're just intrigued by what research might be able to do for you, we're here! The first step is to meet with our team.
But isn't research complicated and abstract? What's that got to do with me?
- We exist to shape research that is accessible, impactful and fulfilling for everyone involved. At the Community Research Initiative, you are not research subjects, you are collaborators. Research should advance your mission and create value for you.

- We know how busy and stretched community organisations are, so we're here to offer capacity-building support to you and our students, empowering you to have a productive working relationship together.
