Here's what Phineas is about...

Phineas is the biggest of our Union bars. It's your go-to for a fun night out on campus, where you can find something for everyone. As the spiritual home of TeamUCL, Phineas hosts our legendary Sports Night every Wednesday during term time. As well as this, other events you can expect to find at Phineas include:

  • Taylor Swift & Friends - our Taylor Swift Soc don't wanna threaten you with a good time, but our monthly Friday Swifty singalong might just.
  • The infamous Glittoris - our monthly LGBT+ club night: Think lip-sync battles, drag performances and classic pop bangers all night long in collaboration with Drag Society and the LGBTQ+ Net.
  • The beloved UCL Jazz Jammin on Tuesdays; featuring fantastic performances from the Union's very own Jazz Society.
  • Our weekly Pub Quiz on a Monday is a chance to test your brain and win a cash prize.
  • EMS OPEN DECKS - Our monthly Friday Electronic / House music mash up hosted by our very own Electronic Music Soc
  • Price Crash - Every Thursday turns the bar into a stock market for drinks, meaning all evening prices rise and fall based on their popularity. It's all about knowing when the best time is to bag yourself a great deal and outplay the system, so embrace your inner finacebro and make bank.

We've got some awesome drinks deals, so you can enjoy a great night out any day of the week without financial ruin.

In the daytime, Phineas is open as a space for you to study and socialise.

Sports Nights in Phineas 

The home of Sports Night is at Phineas, where TeamUCL come for Bar 280 drinks every Wednesday night before heading to Scala Kings Cross, for the TeamUCL Sports Night Club Night.

Our term time hours restart on 23rd September:

Monday: 17:00-23:00

Tuesday: 17:00-01:00

Wednesday: 17:00-00:30

Thursday: 17:00 - 23:00

Friday: 17:00-02:00

Saturday: Private bookings only

Closed on Sundays and bank holidays.

Phineas is open for study, lunch, and general hanging out during the daytime.

Out of term time opening hours

Phineas will be closed except for private bookings during the holidays.

Bar entry policy and safety

If you're visiting one of our bars, familiarise yourself with our bar entry policy, designed to keep us all safe. Please note unless specified last entry is Midnight.

We want you to feel comfortable, safe, and at home when you're spending time in our bars or event spaces which is why we uphold a number of safety initiatives in all our bars including specific measures against spiking and harassment. All our bar staff have also undertaken Drink Spiking Awareness and Active Bystander training.
