We are pleased to invite you to a special screening of "Untold Herstory", a powerful film that brings to life the untold stories of female political prisoners during Taiwan’s White Terror period.

Untold Herstory sheds light on a lesser-known chapter in Taiwanese history, focusing on the experiences of female political prisoners during the White Terror period (1947–1987). The White Terror was a time of martial law and political repression under the authoritarian rule of the Kuomintang (KMT) government.

The movie tells the stories of women imprisoned on Green Island. It explores the emotional, physical and psychological toll of their imprisonment, touching on themes of resistance, courage, and solidarity. It not only highlights the personal suffering and resilience of these women but also shows the broader impact of Taiwan’s authoritarian past on individuals and society.
