Caritas Westminster
Caritas Westminster is the social action agency in the Catholic Diocese of Westminster. We seek to bring about a society where everyone lives a life of dignity and worth by working with parishes to make a difference in local communities through setting up social action projects (e.g. food banks, night shelters, knife-disposal bins) and through partnerships with national and international…
Description

Our Volunteer Service is growing! We are therefore looking for enthusiastic volunteers who share our passion for social action and volunteering. Through supporting our work, you will play an important part in transforming lives throughout the Diocese of Westminster and beyond.

What we do:

Inspire parishioners and people from all walks of life to share their gifts and talents in loving service for the good of the parish or wider community.

Connect people who want to volunteer with parishes, charities and social action projects who are looking for volunteers. We do this through events like volunteering fairs, through a listings website and networking.

Support volunteers and volunteering in the diocese and wider community, including training, resources and recognition.

We already have over 100 volunteering opportunities listed by a wide range of charities at any one time. Our vision is that every visitor to our website will find a meaningful and enjoyable role.

You can help us to further grow the number of opportunities and charities for website visitors to find their perfect role first time  by promoting the Caritas Volunteer Service to charities and social action projects.

More choice = more happy matches = more people receiving the support they need = your opportunity to change someone's life!

This is a fantastic opportunity to multiply the hours you are able to give! You will be able to support a variety of charities and social outreach projects by helping them find more volunteers.

This role has the potential to develop into a wider role around marketing, research and administrative support by mutual agreement.

Who will the volunteers be working with?
The Caritas Volunteer Coordinator and Volunteer Service Administrator will be your main points of contact. When you are in the office, you will be meeting other members of the friendly Caritas team.
Training
An induction and role-specific training will be provided.

This is a flexible role that you can fit around other commitments. You can choose to do more focused spurts of promotion or get into a regular routine, take a break during exam season or as mutually agreed.
We are also open to students who prefer to do a promotion / marketing push as a one-off project, giving more hours within a defined period of time, for example during your summer or other break.
