Description

Home has many meanings, from the buildings we live in to a feeling that goes beyond a specific place. The Museum of the Home’s purpose is to reveal and rethink the ways we live, in order to live better together. It is a place to explore and debate what home means.  

We’re looking for volunteers to support our Diwali Family Celebration Day, which is running as part of our Winter Festival. The day offers creative activities for children and their families connected to the Winter celebration of Diwali. Volunteers will support the delivery of various artist-led workshops during the family day including storytelling, diya-decorating workshop, and traditional dance workshop.

Duties

What’s involved? 

In this role you will: 

  • Provide a warm welcome for families. 
  • Provide support to with evaluation when needed
  • Help guide families through what is on offer [Information will be provided during your briefing] 
  • Support the set-up of workshops with staff and artists. 
  • Sign up families on the day for their desired workshop slot 
  • Support families throughout the workshops  
Who will the volunteers be working with?
Staff, other volunteers, Artists and freelancers and members of the public.
Training
Volunteers will be asked to attend a briefing onsite to learn about the event, a few days before the one off opportunity.

Time commitment

Be available on Saturday 2 November during the day from 9:30 to 5pm and able to attend an in-person briefing ahead of the event.
