MODO Fashion Society: Head of Sustainability

Hi, I’m Mulan, and I’d love to be your Head of Sustainability! I’ve always been a strong advocate for sustainable fashion, and I’ve been involved in a variety of initiatives that align with my passion for ethical and eco-conscious practices. Here’s a bit about what I’ve been doing:

- Regular blog posts where I share insights on sustainable fashion, provide practical tips, and advocate for ethical practices within the industry.

- Using my social media platforms to raise awareness about sustainable fashion choices, highlight eco-friendly brands, and promote ethical consumerism

- Participation in academic competitions focused on sustainability, and also holding editing roles for fashion magazines that prioritise sustainable content and eco-conscious initiatives.

Here are my goals for MODO if elected:

- Increasing the number of thrifting trips and organising clothes-swap events frequently

- Inviting industrial leaders/ guest speakers to give free talks and workshops on the topic of sustainable fashion

- Ensuring that all fashion shows utilise sustainable and ethically sourced material, to minimise the damage done to the environment (you can trust me on this one, I grew up around animals and I will do my best to ensure we keep them safe!)

- Building partnerships with sustainable brands and organisations to provide opportunities like external volunteering events/ work opportunities/sponsored events that align with our sustainability values
