MODO is UCL’s student-run fashion society, created by fashion enthusiasts to meet like-minded people and foster creativity on and off campus. We represent members across London who are interested in fashion, whether as a hobby or a future career. Our events are interactive and inclusive, providing students with the opportunity to experience the fashion industry, working alongside brands, influencers, magazines, and other universities.
Every year, we host various events including a Halloween Photoshoot, a Christmas Party, and the notorious annual Fashion Show. Last year we also hosted a LONDON MET GALA in collaboration with UCL RLBS, KCL, Imperial and LSE.
Alongside these events, MODO hosts various workshops throughout the year including upcycling, makeup, influencing, designing, and styling. We are planning multiple workshops for Term 1 ranging across these topics where members can explore their interests and ultimately, apply these interests during the Fashion Show in 2024.
Additionally, members can participate in MODO Magazine, offering students the chance to develop their skills in fashion journalism, modelling, photography, styling, and graphic design. Each magazine edition has a different selected theme and is celebrated with a launch event, in which members get to hear from and network with various important people in fashion and journalism with insights on working in the industry.
Past highlights include:
- Inviting and interviewing the CEO of the New York Times, Ralph Lauren’s PR Manager, and a Writer at Singapore Vogue and 5Eleven Magazine.
- Collaborating with London-based brands including Kat Maconie, Olivia & Pearl, Spectrum Collections, Avilio London & Sarah Baily to create advertisements for each edition of MODO Magazine.
