Museums Society: President

Hi everyone!! I’m Stephanie, a final-year Sociology student, and I'd love to continue serving as your Museums Society President for 2024-25.

I have always been passionate about museums with their unique blend of fun, engagement, and education. Every visit offers new discoveries and is an exciting way to connect with London’s rich cultural landscape. I'm committed to making visits a fun and accessible experience for our student community! 

Having served as events officer last year and as your current interim president, I am confident that my organization and communication skills will continue effectively managing our society's activities and bringing new ideas to life, ensuring a smooth member experience. 

Vision:

• Increasing communication 🗣️ between committee and members, and members themselves (in progress: increased communication and updates on our group chat + member involvement in our event planning process)
• Wider range of museums: popular ones like the V&A but also unique ones like the Museum of Brands
• Exclusive access to UCL museums (in progress: upcoming object handling event at the Petrie museum!)
• More collaborative visits 🤝 with other societies
• More social events 🍿 such as movie nights and post-visit picnics (as many museums are next to parks)
• Opportunity to meet new people and make new friends!

I’m excited to continue making Museums Society a welcoming and fun space. If elected I’ll continue to work hard to bring this vision to life and ensure our society thrives 😋
