We welcome a media icon to Kinesis Magazine, Dr Kat Arney to our Term 2 Series of Evening Talks. This social will follow a similar pattern to the evening we had in 2021 with Kat where she discusses her journey within Science Journalism, her experience within her PhD and setting up her own company to empower speakers and journalists alike.

Dr Kat Arney is a multi award-winning science writer and broadcaster, and is the founder and Chief Creative Officer of First Create The Media - a communications strategy and content agency working with clients in the life sciences.

Kat was a science communications specialist and media spokesperson at Cancer Research UK for more than a decade before turning freelance in 2016, and is the author of the critically acclaimed science books Herding Hemingway’s Cats, How to Code a Human and Rebel Cell. Her writing has featured in Wired,BBC Online, the Daily Mail, the Times Educational Supplement, The Guardian,Nature, Mosaic, the New Scientist and more.
