What is Temple Fair (庙会) ? 🐼🏮
Temple fair, also known as "Miaohui" or "festive market," is a part of Chinese folk religion and seasonal customs. It is typically held during traditional festivals such as the Chinese New Year, Lantern Festival, and the Dragon Head-Raising Day in the lunar calendar. It is also one of the forms of market trade in China. Its formation and development are closely related to religious activities in local temples, often held on temple festivals or designated dates, mainly within or near temples. Widely popular across China, temple fairs involve worshiping ancestors and deities, reflecting a blend of reverence for nature, ancestors, and spirits. They are also a manifestation of gratitude towards nature, ancestors, and deities.

You will enjoy beautiful traditional Chinese dances, experience the charm of traditional and modern Chinese music, and witness an exquisite performance of Chinese rap!
【Experience Hanfu Culture】🐼👦👧 Hanfu is a traditional Chinese costume. There will be beautifully designed Hanfu costumes available for you to try on for free at the fair. If you have long hair, our on-site volunteer will also offer free Chinese hairstyling for you! Come to the front of the portico in the Main Quad and capture a photo with a full Chinese vibe!
