The benefits of walking

Physical activity has a huge potential to enhance our wellbeing. Even a short burst of 10 minutes of brisk walking increases our mental alertness, energy and positive mood.

1. It will give you an energy boost: Walking increases oxygen flow through the body. It can also increase levels of cortisol, epinephrine, and norepinephrine. Those are the hormones that help elevate energy levels.

2. It will improve your mood: Walking can help your mental health and has been shown to help reduce anxiety, depression, and a negative mood. It can also boost self-esteem and reduce symptoms of social withdrawal.

3. It will help you think creatively: Studies show that walking opens up a free flow of ideas and is a simple way to increase creativity and get physical activity at the same time.
