Susannah Townsend is an inspiring elite athlete. UCL Women's and Men's Hockey Clubs are jointly hosting Susannah Townsend with RUMS Men's and Women's Hockey. This is a talk in line with our LGBTQ+ activities as Susannah will talk about her experiences of adversity and the biases we're often unaware of. She recently retired from playing hockey professionally after representing GB and England 188 times in 12 years. She is recognised for her role in the growth of women's sports worldwide and in 2017 was awarded her MBE for her contribution to sport.
She is passionate about advocating diversity and inclusion and is in the UK's Top 200 gay-rights influences nationally. She is a real inspiration and we are honoured to have her talk to us at UCL.
