Are you a PhD student looking to build skills in co-production and cross sector working? Ever been curious about evaluation?

Then don't miss out on this opportunity to join Green City Projects for our Social Hackathon on 9th May!

What's this about?

You will be joining them for a day to co-design an evaluation approach that is empowering and enjoyable for participants, while being easy to implement and use for the organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with other PhD studentslearn about participatory evaluation, and gain insight from professionals working in the Third Sector.

Tell me more about co-production hackathons...

In this day long event, you will join a small group of PhD students from across UCL to engage with stakeholders from a local voluntary sector organisation to tackle a real world problem that their organisation faces. Together you will co-create a solution that captures the voices and perspectives of the stakeholders and can be implemented by the organisation. You’ll make connections, gain new perspectives, and build valuable skills in co-production and community partnered working.

What happens on the day?

Picture this: you arrive at the lovely community garden in Camden that has been lovingly crafted by the service users of Green City Projects. You spend the first half of the morning chatting with the organisation leads to get context and an in depth background about their community building gardening charity. In the afternoon you sit down with a group of their participants, who are people who have struggled with mental health, to explore and co-create a new way to collect feedback for the organisation. You end the day by sharing your proposal that you have co-produced back with the organisation leads and call it a day!

What skills can I flex?

It's an excellent opportunity to learn together in a fun and engaging manner. Some of the skills you will be developing are:

 Co-production skills
 Evaluation skills
 Stakeholder engagement
 Active listening
 Cross sector working skills

How do I apply?

Applications can be found here and are due on 28 April 2024 at 12.00! Dont miss your chance to say I hacked for social impact!
