Introduction to (Ny)norn

For those who don't know - Norn was a language spoken in the northern most parts of the Scottish mainland such as Cathiness as well as the Orkney and Shetland Islands.

It is a North Germanic Language and thus is related quite closely to Icelandic, Faroese, Norwegian etc. and is further related to other Germanic Languages such as German, English, Dutch etc.

It has since died out, so this lesson focuses on some historical linguistics such as the dialects of Norn and what sound shifts took place in comparison to some of its siblings as well as the modern day reconstruction project - of which the language is named Nynorn (New Norn).

If you have been to this lesson before, the layout will be slightly different, so do come along.
