Seyta Diop

Hi everyone! I'm Seyta, I was on the 2s this year. I would love to take a bigger role in the club and hopefully become your next President.

Firstly, I want to make sure all teams continue having regular coached training sessions so we can keep up this year's amazing work. Furthermore, my biggest goal is to increase diversity in the club and having collaborative events throughout the year with cultural societies to nurture this. I really believe that having people from a wide range of backgrounds will strengthen the UCNC identity and promote a stronger sense of community for all players. I will work towards a UCNC that makes everyone feel as welcome as I did.

My previous role as RUMS NC Fixtures Secretary (BUCS and LUSL sec.) gave me lots of experience liaising with the SU, other clubs, and outside contractors. I'll be able to use the skills I gained to hit the ground running and to advocate for UCNC's interests. Additionally, I worked several years as a summer camp group leader (NCS) where I learnt to carry out risk assessments, create activity plans and be the general port of call for any issues. The organisational skills I developed will be useful when organising trials, varsity and social events throughout the year.

Mostly, I’m looking forward to meeting our incoming freshers and getting to know some more seniors. I'm really excited to get the chance to give back to the club and help shape UCNC in the upcoming year- I hope I get your vote.

Sasha Green

Hey ladies, I’m Sasha and I would love to be your President next year! Covid really put a stop to most netball during my first year, and although second year has gifted us with plenty more netball opportunities, I’d be honoured to get the opportunity to build up UCNC to make it a more diverse and cohesive environment. My aims for the club are:

  • Increase the number of non-drinking socials – such as pottery painting, bowling, and volunteering initiatives
  • Hold more cross-club events – I have already spoken to both Cheer and Pole soc about joint sessions
  • Encourage mixing between competitive and social teams with the introduction of netball families
  • To start the first UCL mixed netball team
  • Encourage growth and diversity within the club whilst maintaining the supportive environment fundamental to UCL’s sporting community

As a TeamUCL Sports Rep, I already have good working relationships with the SU. Through this role I’ve planned and hosted multiple events during TeamUCL Pride week whilst assisting with Varsity preparations, so I am confident in my ability to organise and lead a club of this size.

I also have experience in running trials for my home club, so I know I’d be more than capable of conducting the UCNC trials.

Most importantly, I’m a huge advocate of self-belief, and as President I completely back myself to make the 2022/23 season the best yet. But committee position or not, I can’t wait for another fabulous year of netball!

Alice McNally

Hey I’m Alice and I would love to be your next UCL Netball President!

Being on committee as PR Officer this year has deepened my knowledge of what goes into ensuring everything from training sessions, socials, and annual events run smoothly – I can't wait to commit myself to a role where I get to help make all this possible. I want to use my experience to continue making our club one of the most welcoming and inclusive that UCL has to offer. As captain of the 2s this year, I am no stranger to the organisation that comes with being President and feel that I would be the perfect candidate for the role.

The passion I have for UCNC and its success is huge; I have made so many long-lasting friendships through netball and want to help others do the same. As president, I would aim to build on our current society partnerships through give it a go sessions and more integrated socials to include underrepresented students at UCL who want to try our sport; as well as connecting with female-led UCL societies to provide our members with some new networking opportunities off the court.

Continued growth of our competitive and social teams is vital, so I want to see an increase in freshers' involvement in the club. A goal of mine would be to oversee the introduction of 'families' via our Social Secs.

Finally, I want all members to feel heard on any issues within the club and its environment all year round through the use of an anonymous forum.
