Scarlet Lines

Hi everyone! My name is Scarlet and you might have seen me running around the bloomsbury theatre or the IOE when I was an assistant producer for My Lands Shore and Little Women this year. Strangely I've found I love organising things. I've loved being a part of this society this year with all the talented and hard working people here. I'd love to organise more events like open mics and galas, something to get everyone involved and have a fun time. It helps that I know how to set up the tech system too. I'm also keen to keep musical theatre choir and band going next year, it's been a great opportunity for anyone and everyone to sing some fun tunes and perform them too, I'm eager to keep this going.

So vote for me as your events coordinator and you'll be seeing some exciting events on the horizon :)

And yes this is a pic of me waiting patiently for my pizza, and now I'm hungry again *sigh*

Kaja Posnik

Hi everyone! My name is Kaja and I'm a Neuroscience student at UCL. It’s a really hard choice, but I’d say my favorite musicals are Dear Evan Hansen, Heathers and Come From Away!

Musical Theatre is a very big part of my life. I love the feeling of being in the theatre, watching a performance and being on stage myself, performing for a large audience. I hum show tunes all the time and take up all the musical theatre opportunities that I encounter.

For the past year I’ve been involved in the UCL Musical Theatre Society, I felt very welcomed and supported, had a fantastic time in choir and taking part in events such as karaoke nights and gala’s. I'd love to continue spreading these feelings and connecting people within the society (and anyone who wants to join!). Being the Events Coordinator would be a perfect way to do just that.

If trusted with the responsibility, I would ensure to work with other members of the society and the Committee to create the best experience for all musical theatre lovers. From holding mini MT showcases, to big concerts, trivia nights and much more, I would aim at creating an even stronger network within the Society.

Musical Theatre and the Arts have the power to really impact on our lives and help overcome problems and worries. Through the organised events, I’d be aiming at maintaining that powerful effect and making everyone feel like they belong and are encouraged to express themselves in any way!

See you around :).

Aaron V Y Reyes-Bordado

Hi all! My name is Aaron and I'm running for events coordinator because I want to help organise events that will help to bring even more people into the society that's made my first year at UCL so fun. This would include Open Mics during freshers week, Halloween and at the Theatre Cafe along with continuing the tradition of galas such as the Disney Gala and the Miscast Gala. I also would be working with our social secretaries where needed to help continue our various social events such as our recent popular Musicality Ball. I hope by running for this position I can help to contribute to making the UCL Musical Theatre Society a welcoming environment that will continue displaying the talents of extraordinarily kind and wonderful people for years to come. Thank you for your time :)

Regina Co

Aside from wanting to gain experience in event planning, I intend to hold events that platform the talents of historically marginalised groups, if elected. I would also like to introduce a termly 'What's On' calendar so that other members of the society keep updated with all of the concerts, galas and productions throughout the year.

Ashley New

Musical theatre has always been the place that I've felt the safest - from being able to slip into different characters' personalities, to being able to experience emotional catharsis from a well-written eleven o'clock number, musical theatre has allowed me to express so many different facets of myself without the fear of judgement. Those opportunities are what I hope to create for others in the society, which I believe can be done through various events held throughout the year. Through the events, I'd like to foster a diverse and accepting community, both for performers and those who prefer to simply mingle amongst others with similar interests. Of course, as a performer myself, I hope to realise this vision through having events and socials centred around performance opportunities - this is truly the best way to recognise the massive body of talent within the society, as well as to give everyone the chance to experience the heady rush of the stage without the anxiety associated with rigorous auditions and intense rehearsals.

Briony Lettington

Hi, I'm Briony and I'm running for Event's Coordinator!

Musical Theatre Society has presented me with chances to perform, to take part in socials in iconic locations and find a whole new group of friends. I would love to be involved in continuing to bring these opportunities to UCL students.

Events like showcases and galas are inclusive experiences, giving all members a chance to perform. The running of these events is vital to making the society accessible and gives all performers the chance to showcase their talent. I'd therefore like to continue and build upon the tradition of these gala's to create a fun and pressure-free performance space. Equally, formals or balls are a great opportunity for the entire society to gather and socialise in a setting that you don't get to experience in your day to day life. I have great organisational skills and a personal history of event planning, meaning I feel confident I can deliver exciting and memorable formals.

I find the prospect of being Musical Theatre Society's Events Coordinator really exciting- it gives me the chance to connect the entire society and help to hone the friendships that make participation in the society so special :)
