Hey I'm Lincoln, a penultimate year PPE with Data Science student.
Over the past two years, I have served as Vice President for four different societies at UCL, and have developed strong team leadership skills through coordinating large conferences, speaker events and collaborative initiatives.
Beyond student life, I have also gained hands-on entrepreneurial experience, obtaining first runner up in High School for a Business Pitching Competition, and Semi-Finalist for a Social Venture Challenge by Harvard WorldMUN x Resolution Project.
These all taught me invaluable lessons around fundraising and stakeholder management that I believe would serve me well in supporting Entrepreneur Society.
If selected, some priorities I would focus on include:
-
Expanding our mentorship network within the professional startup community to provide richer guidance and connections
-
Developing new accelerator programs, workshops and funding opportunities to nurture ambitious ideas from conception to market
-
Curating networking events and showcase platforms to help ventures attract talent and potential investors/partners
-
Monitoring global innovation trends to inform strategic focus areas and guide ventures towards opportunities for real impact
For that, I would truly appreciate your vote of confidence. ;)
My name is Frank Yang, and I am thrilled to be running for the VC Executive position for 23-24. I bring a unique blend of experiences from EdTech, social entrepreneurship, and specialized knowledge in VC financing and valuation, honed through summer learning programs.
Here's my focused plan:
-
Robust Fundraising: Leveraging my background in advanced understanding of financing and successful records in sponsorships and partnerships in other societies, I aim to significantly enhance our fund’s capacity.
-
Enhanced Deal Flow: Utilizing my insights from EdTech and Social Entrepreneurship, coupled with my vast knowledge of student societies, I plan to attract and rigorously evaluate a diverse range of promising startups, ensuring a high-quality deal flow.
-
Fair and Impactful Selection: I'm dedicated to a transparent and equitable selection process. My approach aligns with a keen eye for founders' passion and societal impact, ensuring we support ventures that offer both social and economic returns.
My ambition is to build a solid grounding of the UCL Entrepreneurs' VC Fund as a staple in the UCL entrepreneurship community now that we run on an actively-"investing" model, distinguished by its healthy funding sources, strategic deal flow and impact. .
