I am standing for Road Captain with the goal of making our cycling club even more accessible to newer riders and riders who face other obstacles to joining in longer rides particularly due to time constraints from studying and paid work commitments. If elected as Road Captain I would make sure that our social laps on Wednesdays are safe and welcoming for everyone regardless of ability or background by ensuring that there are always groups riding at a pace that riders are comfortable with, which would also benefit the  more advanced riders of the club by allowing them to stay fast without worrying about dropping novice riders. On Longer group rides, when possible, I would create similar routes of different lengths to cater to different abilities or interests (e.g novice, intermediate, climbing) which would still share common sections such as the ride out and cafe stop to ensure that the social aspect of larger group rides remains.

I already have leadership and committee experience as a student co-lead of the History department's First in Family and Working Student Network, as well as having responsibilities in work such as training new staff, which will translate well into welcoming new members of the club

I am an experienced cyclist in London so I can and will make sure that everyone is safe on the roads. I am happy to create/lead rides that go outside of London especially out to the Chilterns where I learned to cycle. Despite not having done a lot of racing I'd still like to do more to help encourage members to race as it is fun and good for learning new skills.
