Idea for research
Centre 404, dedicated to providing supportive services to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and their families across 7 London Boroughs, invites passionate and dedicated master's students from UCL to embark on a transformative research journey.

We are committed to creating a world where everyone, regardless of their abilities, enjoys the same rights, freedom, and quality of life as those in the wider community. The project "Improving Independent Living Services" aims to explore innovative methods to gather meaningful feedback from service users who are non-verbal or have high needs.

Understanding the perspectives of these individuals is crucial for setting service goals and outcomes, as well as assessing the real impact of our services on their daily lives. We envision a qualitative research project that engages with the community, giving a voice to those who often go unheard.
Impact of idea
By participating in this project, you have the opportunity to contribute to a significant transformation in the lives of high needs/non-verbal service users. Your research will be a valuable tool for enhancing our services and, ultimately, contributing to the creation of healthier, more inclusive communities.

Existing data: comprehensive annual survey data, a cornerstone of Centre 404's efforts to gather feedback from Independent Living (IL) service users and their families/next of kin. The survey, written in an accessible format, addresses diverse areas of interest such as digital isolation, cost of living, and safeguarding concerns. The data collected informs departmental objectives, which are closely monitored by the IL management team throughout the year.
