Welcome to the Lightning Hack - a giant Social Hackathon, in only 2-hours focused on ideas ideas ideas!

This is an event defined by the collective drive to make a real difference, where the brightest minds gather to spark change and redefine the world we live in. UCL students from all across globe, armed with their laptops, life journeys, skills and boundless enthusiasm, will come together, ready to tackle societal challenges head-on.

- A Fun Venue: Set in the historical and beautiful Quad, steeped in knowledge and learning, our Marquee offers a fun and informal atmosphere that fuels inspiration and collaboration. Free refreshments will keep you fuelled up, to work at pace!

- Diverse Challenges: From sustainability to education, our hackathon features a wide array of challenges that cater to every passion and interest.

- Expert Mentors: Gain invaluable insights and guidance from non-profit sector leaders and mentors who are passionate about empowering the next generation of innovators.

Don’t know anyone going? No worries - there will be lots of super friendly faces from the Students’ Union’s Volunteering team, ready to welcome you in and help you meet other students.

Don’t think you’ve got the skills? It’s simply not true. The beauty of a Hackathon is that everyone has something to offer and the magic is in the mix!
