Description

As a Volunteer Communications Assistant at Scientifically Speaking, you will play a crucial role in shaping our online presence through engaging blogs and compelling podcast episode summaries.

This position involves creating content that resonates with our target audience, showcases our brand identity, and contributes to our overall marketing strategy.

You'll have the opportunity to drive brand awareness and foster a deeper connection with our audience.

Duties
  • Blog Writing: Craft well-researched and captivating blog posts on relevant topics within our industry, ensuring alignment with SEO best practices and our brand voice.
  • Podcast Episode Summaries: Create concise and engaging summaries for our podcast (Monday Science) episodes, highlighting key takeaways and encouraging audience interest.
  • Content Optimization: Implement SEO strategies to maximize the reach and impact of our content across various online platforms.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the team to maintain a consistent brand voice and messaging across all communication channels.
  • Stay Informed: Keep abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging content formats to ensure our content remains fresh and relevant.

Other members of Scientifically Speaking team
Multidisciplinary stakeholders including artists (in different areas), performers, STEM organisations and academics in STEM.
Training
Key skills that will be developed in this role are communication skills, digital content creation, storytelling and project management.

Time commitment

Regular - on a weekly basis for at least 6 months
