Cara Daum

Hello everyone,

To introduce myself quickly: I am Cara, and I currently play for the 1st team at UCL. I joined UCL this year to study politics and international relations and have loved it so far. A big part of why settling into Uni has been so easy was joining UCLWF. It’s been a great way to socialise, get active and distract myself from an otherwise busy schedule. I grew up in a world focused on football; whether it was my dad’s love for the game, supporting my home team, or playing in a local club, it was always in my environment. I was fortunate enough to be vice-captain of my school’s football team, but I realised that getting support and attention as female footballers can be incredibly difficult. As President of UCLWF, I want to ensure that football becomes more inclusive and attractive to younger women. Especially the efforts made by this years committee, have encouraged me to similarly participate in the development of UCLWF.

My goals as President of UCLWF, are to develop the club further, building on its offerings. I plan to continuously promote inclusivity and diversity, especially by expanding on volunteering opportunities and activities. It is important to continue the club’s advocacy for female participation through campaigns like This Girl Can. I also plan to organise more events, including socials, trips, and tournaments. Most importantly, I aim to foster engagement and enthusiasm for the game, and I can’t wait for another year of football with you!

Robyn Musson

Hi everyone!

I’m Robyn, a BASc Arts and Sciences student currently on my year abroad. Having been lucky enough to meet so many of my best friends through UCLWFC, I am keen to continue my involvement in the club and its development next year.

As President, I will have 3 main goals which I have outlined below, along with how and why I hope to achieve them.

Increase engagement with Students’ Union campaigns such as Pride in Sport, This Girl Can and TeamUCL Against Hate to further our commitment to Diversity and Inclusion.

How? This engagement will take many forms, from social media usage, diversity and inclusion education events and charity fundraising.

Why? Not only will this help us to improve the already welcoming environment at UCLWFC, involving ourselves in these campaigns will help to drive positive force throughout UCL and UCL’s Student Union.

Build the financial foundations to expand training facility capacity ASAP.

How? Increase fundraising via grant applications and profit generating events to support new training facilities.

Why? With increased income, UCLWFC will be able to rent more training space, providing all teams with a better environment to improve.

Run more regular ‘welfare’ socials.

How? I will work with social secretaries to run  non-alcohol centred events more regularly.

Why? Don’t get me wrong, I love a Scala Sports Night, but when uni work is piling high, a chill social can be a lifeline. Don’t worry though, Scala nights will be here to

Sophia Lorvo

Hi! My name is Sophia, and I'm a Second-Year Undergrad in Crime and Security Science!

As a huge football fan, I started out in the 3s in my first year, where I experienced how a society can help someone feel at home at uni. This year, I joined the 2s, where great coaching and the chance to play alongside talented players taught me a lot about the sport I love. By also becoming Welfare Officer, I learned how to work alongside a team when running a society.

I believe that I have what it takes to be President – I pride myself on being organized, outspoken, extroverted, and most of all deeply caring about UCLWFC! Being elected would be an honor, and I will work to make the club excel by holding bimonthly committee meetings and surveying members through polls on Instagram and anonymous Google Forms.

Socials will be posted by Sunday night, and I will work with the Social Secs to mix these up weekly – joining other societies, pub golf, more karaoke, watching women's football, but also sober activities like movie nights! My goal is for UCLWFC to be one entity on Wednesday nights, and not split up between teams.

I will also bring back our volunteering opportunities, get new club kits (starting with the 3s), organize buses to away games, and dedicate time and energy to Varsity to show King’s that London is purple ;)

I am open to any suggestions to help make this club the best it can be. I hope to lead UCLWFC to your satisfaction if I am elected and I am ready to give hell!
