Ayush Balebail Dasannacharya

I am standing for the position of Vice President of Client Relations in the Economics and Finance Society because I am deeply passionate about fostering meaningful connections between our organization and the broader professional community. Coming into this role with a background in Politics and Economics, alongside serving as a Student Representative for the 2023-2024 academic year, I believe I am the best qualified to handle this role. Being the VP of client relations requires a balance of interpersonal skills, industry knowledge, and dedication to service, all of which I have honed through my experiences both within UCL and in the professional world.

I want to expand the horizons of the EFS and am committed to working alongside a team to take our prestigious society to new heights. I believe that effective client relations with industry leaders are foundational to the advancement of our goals, and I am committed to working tirelessly to ensure that our interactions with them are characterized by professionalism, integrity, and mutual benefit.

Through this role, I aim to cultivate lasting partnerships, provide valuable opportunities for our members, and ultimately contribute to our society's continued growth and success.

Michelle Prajitno

Hi everyone, my name is Michelle and I am studying BSc Economics and Statistics. Since joining UCL, the EFS Society has provided me invaluable guidance on career-related applications through their development programmes, speaker events and workshops. These helped me secure a Spring Weeks offer and I would like to contribute to the society through a role as the Vice President of Client Relations.

I am particularly interested in this role as it aligns with my previous experiences. Having been the Boarding Council’s Head of Recreation and Enrichment in high school, I am experienced in seeking and negotiating with external sponsors for our events, such as international vendors or companies where they provide us discounts, finance and offer facilities or venues for our events. Among my other experiences, I was also the School Representative for World Vision Indonesia, where I managed key sponsor relationships and took the lead in successfully raising GBP 7,500 as part of the Lombok Earthquake Emergency Response.

These experiences have fostered and strengthened my skills in drawing up sponsorship proposals, negotiating sponsorship agreements to maximize sponsorship revenues, and in general maintain external relations with sponsors.

I truly believe that Client Relations is one of the backbones of any society as increased funding would allow the society to present continuously high quality events to its members. I am therefore highly motivated to apply these skills in increasing the society’s funding to expand the reach of the

Krishan Parmar

I am running for this role because I feel my strong communication skills and personable nature would be a good fit for engaging with clients. I have extensive work experience in a corporate work environment so I know the correct etiquette when speaking to a senior individual.

I am reliable and dedicated to my tasks and would endeavour to build strong, meaningful relationships with any potential clients. I would also encourage feedback from members of our society in order to refine the delivery of our sessions and streamline the way in which we present information in order to make it as engaging as possible.

Being on the mentorship scheme this academic year has opened my eyes to the valuable role the EFS society plays in the wider community at UCL. The breadth of speakers they attract from all walks of life is bar to none and this ubiquity truly inspires me. I would be grateful for the chance to serve this EFS community and help to elevate the society's impact even further!

Karl Dumasia

Hi everyone,

I’m Karl, a first-year representative (FYR) of the Client Relations division. Through my current position, I have gained insight into the inner workings of the society, working closely with the current President and Vice Presidents to hold events, plan outreach and obtain new sponsorship deals. I believe that I am the only candidate who can continue to deliver what the current committee have achieved this year. If elected, I pledge to work to help you learn from the best and improve your opportunities via these policies:

Increase sponsorship of the society, whilst strengthening existing partnerships (Eg: our partnership with Point72). I will strive to bring more exposure to the society, both through personal connections and a specially tailored sponsorship timeline.

Host frequent networking events with sponsors. Having worked on organising events like these as part of my role as a FYR, I am confident in my ability to help bring speakers and firms to the university. These events will help you to gain knowledge of the industry and improve your applications.

Promote collaboration with other economics and finance societies. Such as those at LSE, KCL, Durham, Bocconi, etc. to hold larger events – both in person and online, providing an opportunity for cross university networking.

Build from the ground up. I plan to build a team of dedicated and experienced executives who have prior experience with the society to work in your best interests.

Thank you for your time.

Sejal Jain

Hey everyone!

I'm Sejal, a first-year economics student, running for the VP of Client Relations. I see this role as a pivotal opportunity to combine my passion for finance and proven skills in networking and relationship-building to create meaningful connections for our members.

If elected I aim to:

1. Re-establishing Lost Connections:

  • Revive relationships with previous sponsors, ensuring continuous support and collaboration.
  • Implement a comprehensive engagement strategy to address the specific needs and interests of each sponsor.

2. Forging New Connections and Strengthening Existing Ones:

  • Develop fresh connections and fortify existing relationships with industry leaders like Blackstone, PJT Partners etc.
  • Introduce the UCL EFS Industry Summit—an annual event for insightful discussions and networking.
  • Launch the "Coffee with Leaders" series, providing members with intimate interactions with industry figures.

3. Negotiating Tailored Internship Opportunities:

  • In addition to event hosting, endeavour to negotiate exclusive internship opportunities with prominent firms for the talent pool within UCL EFS.

4. Enhance Skill Development and Industry Engagement:

  • Negotiate strategic collaborations with industry leaders to integrate real-world projects into UCL EFS, providing members with hands-on experience, enhancing practical skills, and creating valuable networking opportunities for future career success.

Thank you,

Sejal
