Hi everyone,
I’m Karl, a first-year representative (FYR) of the Client Relations division. Through my current position, I have gained insight into the inner workings of the society, working closely with the current President and Vice Presidents to hold events, plan outreach and obtain new sponsorship deals. I believe that I am the only candidate who can continue to deliver what the current committee have achieved this year. If elected, I pledge to work to help you learn from the best and improve your opportunities via these policies:
Increase sponsorship of the society, whilst strengthening existing partnerships (Eg: our partnership with Point72). I will strive to bring more exposure to the society, both through personal connections and a specially tailored sponsorship timeline.
Host frequent networking events with sponsors. Having worked on organising events like these as part of my role as a FYR, I am confident in my ability to help bring speakers and firms to the university. These events will help you to gain knowledge of the industry and improve your applications.
Promote collaboration with other economics and finance societies. Such as those at LSE, KCL, Durham, Bocconi, etc. to hold larger events – both in person and online, providing an opportunity for cross university networking.
Build from the ground up. I plan to build a team of dedicated and experienced executives who have prior experience with the society to work in your best interests.
