Sunny Qian

Hello! I'm Sunny, the current treasurer of HFS.

I am running for President of the Guild society to explore the various opportunities we may be exposed to and take leadership in organising even more inspirational competitions and conferences here at UCL, as the largest society.

I believe I am well equipped with the necessary skills to thrive in this job. My strong ability can be justified by my spring offers from J.P. Morgan, KPMG, RBC CM and Maven Securities.

My main agenda will be as follows:

  • Expansion: Guild has great connections both internally and externally. I will continue to capitalise on this and further expand our connections and leverage our network by building a stronger brand image to introduce our members even more talented people. For example, expanding our pool of sponsor firms to bring you firm-specific insights, or networking with leading experts.
  • Consolidation: I will aim to build upon Guild's wonderful resources to enhance our connections with our current connections by expanding our sponsorship options with them, allowing them and us to bring you even more opportunities beneficial to our members. This will involve diversifying our offerings to include workshops and socials, for you to get to know more people and learn how to achieve your career goals.

By voting for me, I will use my diverse experience, along with my academic motivations, to turn the Guild Society for the better and maintain our strong position as the largest career society in UCL!

Ameera F Binti Seyed Abu Tahir

Having been apart of Guild Society for the past two academic years, I have had the luxury to see our society grow and to partake in it’s impact to UCL students. For my final year in university, I would like the opportunity to lead Guild society in order to provide more extensive career support to our community. I want to encourage individuals to try no matter where they are in their career journey.

what will you do if elected?

  • Restart the blog ‘The Compass: would want to restart this initiative as I feel that it is a useful way to actively learn about market trends or topics associated with an individuals field of interest
  • Start ‘The Compass Podcast’: For individuals who are unable to attend in-person events, having a podcast that is accessible at anytime of the day would be beneficial.
  • Provide more skills-based events such as restarting Guild Academy:Actively practicing skills is what will enable individuals to learn the fastest. An example is to create a weekly or monthly run student-led workshop by the Guild to practice skills needed in interviews or in the job itself.

No matter the result, I am grateful for this opportunity to run for President. I hope to create a more inclusive and close community.

Himanshu Keshari

Hello members! I’m Himanshu Keshari, a first-year economics student by profession, a leader by passion, a changemaker by choice. My vision is clear - creating Guild’s global footprint in entrepreneurship.

I plan to prioritise the following areas as your Guild Society President.

Wide-ranging Opportunity Platform:  We will host several events, including stock trading simulation, annual global case study competition, stock pitches for Bloomsbury Capital, global business conference 2023, and funding Guild’s own incubator projects.

Inclusivity and Diversity: We will make sure that students from all backgrounds and communities are represented in Guild’s events and opportunities, thus breaking the barriers.

Transparent and Democratic Leadership: Devising clear communication channelsmember votes in decision-making, quarterly feedback reports and facilitating freedom of information requests.

One Team and One Family: We will ensure that you feel you belong here by creating a volunteering platform for delegating meaningful responsibilities. And yes, we will party hard!

Skill Enhancement and Speaker’s Series: What unites us? Desire to learn and grow. Together, our committee will actively organise exclusive training sessions, Nobel lecture series and Forbes 30U30.

My vision is supported by my leadership experience as the school’s student council president and UCL’s first-year academic rep. As the winner of 5+ national case study competitions, I have gained analytical and business acumen. And having participated in 20+
