Zheyuan Tony Yang

In December of last year, I committed to continue PiTV's enduring legacy of producing conduct that is both entertaining and informative. In the past few months, I've worked alongside the Co Editors-In-Chief as a Sub EIC for PiTV, helping establish or further develop programs such as the weekly news round-up segment PiTV News, the long-form, documentary-style News Specials, and upcoming segments such as Pi Lifestyle and UCL Reacts. I've also loved working with the scriptwriters, presenters, and editors across PiTV, forging a sense of camaraderie as we work to build up our unique, vibrant corner of Pi Media.

If Elected Co-Editor-In-Chief, I will continue to ensure that PiTV reflects the remarkable diversity of student voices at UCL, both in the topics that we choose to cover and in the community of contributors. I'd especially like to focus more on highlighting student societies and exploring student life both on and off-campus, as well as expand our programs to include commentary/opinion segments so that students have a chance to express their opinions on social and cultural issues big and small.

My time at PiTV has undoubtedly been a highlight of my year, and with your trust, I will do my best to make it one for many more people!

John McNamara

Having worked on PITV's News team this year, I have enjoyed the process of creating broadcasts from scratch and thus want to continue working with PITV and help it go from strength to strength. I am standing as I am excited for the future of PITV and the potential possibilities of where PITV can go after being relaunched and would like to play a part in the leadership of this project. As co-editor in chief, I would put my own creative spin on the productions to hopefully take them to the next level, whilst incorporating the many positive aspects of the current set up. Personally, I believe myself to be rather hardworking which will be necessary when meeting deadlines to upload weekly videos. I am really passionate about journalism and feel that having a strong student broadcasting set up is important for UCL for students who wish to understand the news that affects them so therefore if elected, I will give my all to provide quality leadership for the PITV News team.

Alexia Mihaila

My name is Alexia Mihaila; I am an Arts & Sciences undergrad student and I am re-running as PiTV Editor-in-Chief because I absolutely adore working for PiTV! As one of the current EICs together with my co-EIC we managed to build a strong team spread across five PiTV segments, as well as I established UCL Reacts!

Next Year I plan to:

* Maintain and develop the PiTV team while training them with the help of Film & TV Society and people in the industry

* Offer the teams leading specific segments creative freedom and responsibility

* Organise clear schedules and motivate the team to stick to the imposed deadlines

* Fight to have PiNews available at UCL leisure spaces and each episode live streamed with Filmsoc in the form of a proper news station

* Expand the PiTV TikTok, Youtube and IGTV presence

* Strengthen the bond between PiTV and other societies, to promote their social impact and increase the visibility across UCL's students' community

* Ensure smooth communication between the EICs and the students who want to collaborate, submit videos and ideas

I would love to be part of the PiTV team again next year and provide interactive and high-quality content, thus I hope you’ll vote for me again for another well videographed UCL year! :)

Ludovica Ardente

As current PiTV Co-Editor-in-Chief, I work every day to establish the presence of PiTV at UCL and ensure that this channel becomes an integral part of UCL Student’s life and the main resource for news and insights. It was not an easy task to rebuild the platform, create a new team and implement new segments that produce content every week. I am proud of the work done so far, but we are not done and there is plenty of room for improvement.

My main goals are:

  • Expand the Lifestyle segment: both in the form of longer videos and shorter Reels and Tik Tok
  • Increase the flow of News, which are currently only in the form of weekly roundups,  by posting updates on IG stories
  • Recruit a strong editorial and technical team to keep up with the high level of activity
  • Coordinate with PiOnline and the online editors to promote the work being done across PiMedia platforms

PiTV has truly given me a purpose and increased my love for the world of journalism even further. Broadcasting reveals to be one of the most effective and engaging forms of reporting and I look forward to growing with the PiTV team.

Brendon Koh

PiTV has recently been revitalised with a whole slew of segments and I’ve been helping with the presenting and ideation for UCL Reacts as well as Pi Lifestyle. I am so excited for this new era of PiTV and I want to help steer us to become the go-to channel for news updates, discussions on school life, or some lighthearted fun.

I’d like to think my humour is somewhat passable. Well, kind of. People sometimes laugh at what I say. And other times, they don’t. Anyway, the point I’m getting to is: my main aim as Co Editor-in-chief would be to make our videos entertaining for both the viewers, and also the team behind them. With my years of experience binging YouTube videos, I know what makes a good video tick.

Getting to the slightly more boring (but important) stuff, I have had working experience in the Singapore Police Force where I was mainly in charge of engaging with the community through posters, social media, and videos. I’ve been attuned to be sensitive to what content works for the community.

I have also successfully managed a social media advertising campaign during my time there, so I know a thing or two about getting things organised. I’m quite meticulous about the things I do and I love to bring structure to the chaos (or creativity). As PiTV is going through a period of change, I want to lay a solid foundation for how we do things so that the process will be smooth for the team, and the content produced will be entertaining for our audience.
