Description

Home has many meanings, from the buildings we live in to a feeling that goes beyond a specific place. The Museum of the Home’s purpose is to reveal and rethink the ways we live, in order to live better together. It is a place to explore and debate what home means.

We’re looking for volunteers to support testing out our exciting new workshop offer with schools. Students from Local School will be taking part in workshops at the museum on various dates during March and May.

Volunteers will help staff create a welcoming atmosphere for the students and their teachers and support engagement with the museum spaces, themes of the workshops and creative activities. Volunteers will support materials preparation, as well as setting up and setting down the workshop space.

Workshop on this day include:

  • Patterns: Migration & Identity

Exploring stories of migration through patterns in the home, students will create their own collagraph printed pattern connecting with their identity.
