On the 29th of November, the House of Commons voted 330-275 in favour of the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill, which would allow adults who are terminally ill to request and be provided with assistance to end their own lives. This is a historic time for the UK, which does not currently have any provisions for physician-assisted dying, or euthanasia.
Do you support the choice to die in dignity or believe that all life must be protected? Join us to hear from an expert panel about why they are in favour of, or against the Bill, and learn about its challenges and moral implications. Speakers include:
- Rabbi Dr Jonathan Romain, Chair of Dignity in Dying and Convener of the Reform Beit Din, the rabbinic court serving synagogues across the UK (pro-Bill)
- Professor David Albert Jones, Director of the Anscombe Bioethics Centre, a research institute serving the Catholic Church in the UK and Ireland (anti-Bill)
- Nathan Stilwell, Campaigns and Communications Manager at My Death, My Decision (pro-Bill)
