Home-Start Camden and Islington is a registered charity committed to promoting the welfare of families with at least one child under five years of age. Supported by dedicated and experienced staff, our volunteers offer regular support, friendship, and practical help to families under stress in their own homes, helping to prevent family crisis and breakdown.
You will be responsible for supporting the Home-Start Camden and Islington Staff with general office administration tasks such as answering phones, electronic filing and minute taking
Core Responsibilities
- Support the Operations Coordinator with all administrative tasks as directed.
- To monitor our general enquiries inbox, maintaining confidentiality at all times and responding to enquiries in a timely manner.
- Processing new referrals by passing the information from new enquiries to the appropriate staff members
- Supporting the wider staff team with digital tasks.
- Answering the office phone, dealing with enquiries where possible and passing messages to the appropriate parties in an efficient manner.
- Maintain the office diary using Outlook to manage appointments, meetings, and events.
- Shredding confidential paperwork, photocopying, and scanning as needed.
- Greeting visitor to the office, ensuring they are comfortable and feel welcomed.
- Setting up the meeting room for various events, conferences, and training days.
- Distributing flyers and posters to increase family referrals and volunteer recruitment across community spaces in Camden and Islington
- Shopping for refreshments and other one-off items as needed.
- Organising donations and office space
- Updating official Home-Start Camden and Islington correspondence forms to reflect the correct contact information etc.
Additional Responsibilities based on volunteer’s interests and skills
- Supporting social media efforts
- Helping facilitate and steward events for families, volunteers, funders, partners, and potential donors
- Designing posters for events using pre-set templates on Canva
