Description

We are looking for a volunteer with strong administrative skills to support our solicitors and immigration advisers, so as to increase our capacity to meet the demand for advice and protection in this area. Whilst this is largely an administrative role, there will be the opportunity to work in a legal environment and to see the whole range of immigration/asylum work from preparing applications all the way to advocacy at court.

The Immigration Advice Service

We provide immigration advice to a wide range of low income and vulnerable migrant groups on a variety of complex and interesting issues. We are in the fortunate and, by the standards of the sector, very unusual position of not being dependant on legal aid (the Legal Aid Agency) for funding.  The fact that we do not depend on the Legal Aid Agency means that we can take the time necessary to add value to our client’s cases, research the law thoroughly and prepare cases to a high standard.
