Rachel Lawrence

My name is Rachel and as your current president, I'd love to express to you why I hope to sit as a president for the next academic year, and how it’d benefit you! Through acting as president for the past few terms, I’ve been able to acquire a strong understanding of the behind the scenes technicalities, allowing our society to bring to you graduate recruitment dinners and trips to firm offices, and so with my existing grasp on the role, I will be able to hit the ground running to make the next year significantly more productive, informative, insightful and fun! 

As I succeeded in acquiring sponsors of the likes of Herbert Smith Freehills, Allen & Overy and Ropes & Gray for last year, I’m confident in my ability to secure an exciting line up of sponsors to provide to you a hub of resources and experiences. Having already communicated with firms in preparation for the next year, I can assure you a foundation that I hope to continue to nurture. 

Navigating the field as a non-law student can be daunting when there is so much to do and you don’t know where to start, and that’s how I felt when I first started my career journey. I hope to use my experience, knowledge of the field, knowledge of external resources and passion for this society to be a president you can talk to and rely on!!
