Tom Cox

I am standing for the position of Vice President of Outreach, as I am driven by my interest in finance and my aspiration to build a career in Sales within an investment bank. I am keen continue the good work of the Investment Society and continue brokering relations with prospective clients. My academic journey in History, Politics, and Economics has not only provided me with a robust foundation in understanding global macro trends and political dynamics but has also honed my analytical skills, enabling me to assess and interpret complex financial data effectively.

My passion for finance goes beyond academia; to participate in JP Morgan Insight Days, and work as an Investment Analyst in the Equities division for the UCL Investment Fund. JP Morgan offered me a glimpse into the real-world operations of a leading investment bank, from intricate financial modeling to the culture within an investment bank, whilst my teams pitch on Airbus was deemed worthy to be sent to BNP Paribus for review. These experiences have been instrumental in solidifying my decision to pursue a career in Sales within the financial sector.

Moreover, I have a natural inclination towards building and nurturing relationships. My experiences have taught me that at the heart of successful investment banking lies the ability to broker strong, trust-based relationships with clients. This skill is something I enjoy and excel at, and I am eager to further develop it within the context of the Investment Society.

Alexander Mal

I am running to be Vice President of the Investment Society because I will work towards helping us all get our dream jobs in finance.

I will make sure that our society brings in more big-name speakers, improve the current mentorship program and make it the best in the UK, and diversify opportunities through the huge UCL Finance Conference.

Right now, the mentorship programme is limited to an intake of few students each year, which must be increased and diversified across the board.

My goal is to give you more chances to learn, meet important people, and get ready for our amazing future. Together, we will make our society even more amazing and help each other succeed in the finance world.

Juri Yano

I'm Juri and I'm excited to run for the outreach vice president position this year.

While attending career talk events at investment society, I want to make these events even better next year with:

  • More varieties in the professionality of guests
  • A more welcoming environment for newcomers

to do this, I will

  • Open a Google form that members can submit if they want any specific guests/collaborations
  • Reach out to new potential collaborators in events
  • Post videos after the events for newcomers to get an idea of the atmosphere
  • Ask current committee members for advice to know more about how that society is run

I have leadership experiences as:

  • Course representative
  • Peacebuilding lessons facilitator

I really want to make events at the Investment Society better by involving more people, so please vote for me!

Thank you so much for reading.

Attila Mesterhazy

Hi all!

My name is Attila Mesterhazy second-year PSE student at UCL.

My candidacy for the Investment Society's outreach position is driven by my experiences that align closely with the demands of this role. Having managed relationships with the Rt. Hon. Jeremy Hunt, Chancellor, during my time at the House of Commons, and working directly with the Vice President of the European Parliament to liaise with MEPs in the ECON committee, I've developed a nuanced understanding of economic policies and political dynamics. These experiences have developed my networking and communication skills, enabling me to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. I am eager to leverage this background to enhance the Investment Society's outreach efforts, building meaningful partnerships and expanding our reach within and beyond the academic community.

If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to email [email protected] or ask me in person!

Yours,

Attila

Ishanvi Arora

My involvement as an executive and mentor in the investment society over the last year has deepened my interest and passion to contribute to this society. I plan to make changes in the committee's current work. I hope to use our foundation and enhance it to ensure the Investment Society is the place to be for anyone looking for a career in finance. I also aim to increase the socials we host to ensure that all members get adequate chances to network and meet like-minded individuals.

Here's why you should vote for me:

1. Elevating Our Society: I'll enhance our foundation to make our investment society the top choice for finance careers.

2. Empowering Your Success: I'll provide resources and support to help you thrive in finance.

3. Expanding Networking: More social events mean more chances to connect with others in the field.

4. Your Voice Matters: I'll advocate for ensuring our society meets your needs.

Together, let's make our investment society the best it can be.

I appreciate your support.

Alexander Ziga

Over the past year, as an active UCLIS member, I believe I have learned what it means to take initiative and make an impact within one of my biggest areas of interest - investment and finance. I stand for this position with the desire to continue Investment Society’s reputation of creating opportunities for UCL students. Through this position, I intend to expand networking opportunities for students with the same aspirations as myself. Some of my best attributes, that could bring this society forward, are my ability to lead, communicate, and have an active presence within, and outside of, the society. Additionally, I think I can bring a unique network to the society to further diversify our audiences. In the past, I led a mathematicians’ society that fostered my problem solving, innovation and creativity skills. It is this set of characteristics and experiences that I am confident will make me a valuable addition to the UCLIS Executive Team as Vice President for the Outreach committee.
