Christian Union has played a formative role in my faith, the fellowship that faces outwards to give people the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel has taught me a lot and I look forward to learning more at CU this coming year. Sung worship plays an important role within the mission and heart of CU. When we gather to praise God in song it leads us into a deeper, truer love for the Lord, where we remind ourselves of His goodness. Here we can encounter the living, present God in a unique way as we behold him with song, joining in with the eternal song of the angels "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!" - Revelation 4:8
Sung worship and sharing the gospel are deeply connected. They are both an expression of love and adoration of God that cannot be contained, a joy that overflows.
"Sing to the Lord, bless His name; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among the peoples." - Psalm 96:2-3
I am standing to be on committee because I am passionate about both the mission of CU to share the gospel and our CU becoming more alive in worship and that then fueling our faith, leading us to 'proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.'
