Hello!! I'm Lauren, you might've seen me skulking around at Cheese Grater and IOE bar over the course of this year. The society has been a pleasure to attend, both to meet some amazing people and to develop my writing, so I'd be honoured to give back by being your satire editor!

My main goal would be to maintain the relaxed and encouraging atmosphere of the satire meetings. Having the space to share ideas, unwind after lectures and get inspired by the other members is crucial to the success of the satire section, enabling each member to do their best work. I hope to sustain this positive atmosphere to keep everyone connected and inspired.

As editor, I would also aim to promote creativity and edit pieces in a way that stays authentic to the author's voice. The pieces this year have already been amongst the most imaginative things I have read. I'd love to nurture this creativity by scouring the campus (+ London itself)  for any scraps of information or gossip which get your mind going. As for editing pieces, each writer has a unique style and humour, which I would aspire to understand and help finalise pieces in a way that each writer can be proud of.

I have a few ideas for workshops and collaborations with other funny people. If elected, I would look forward to sending a series of incredibly polite emails to make this happen. Please feel free to ask me any questions about this or let me know if you have any ideas!

Thank you for reading,

Lauren :)
