This year, I saw the phenomenal work carried out by the RUMS committee with the return of anticipated events. Despite this, some have not been as financially and socially accessible for many RUMS students. As Treasurer, I want to see the inclusion of all students through events that promote our community.

I gained a wealth of experience through work as a GP surgery bookkeeper, management of my tutoring business and having an Ops & Finance subcommittee role, all within the past year. This role had given me invaluable insight from shadowing the Treasurer, where I assisted in organising the inaugural RUMS Conference. I also played a part in securing sponsors and designing social media posts for the RUMS App launch. Overall, I am determined to integrate these skills to maintain the financial health of the RUMS community and offer the best medical school experience!

Aims:

  • Secure the best sponsorship deals; ensure events are financially accessible to ALL students
  • Redistribute funding into overlooked areas; increase student involvement; support more non-drinking events, educational events; welfare
  • Improve outreach and engagement of RUMS pages adding to the attempt to streamline information

My vision is to unite our diverse community by means of appropriate financial backing to represent all of us. The future of RUMS is exciting. You can be reassured that I will strive to provide a memorable and enjoyable year.

Danna Nitzani

Hi, I’m Danna and I have been involved in RUMS through a diverse range of roles which have given me the skills and enthusiasm to be your RUMS Treasurer! Being part of the RUMS Ops & Finance and Events Subcommittees has given me invaluable insight into how RUMS is run, which will be useful to support the VPs next year and effectively finance RUMS activities. As an Academic Representative, I have gained skills in voicing feedback to UCLMS which will prove helpful when communicating the needs of RUMS to the SU as Treasurer. I also work with the SU as a Team UCL Referee and am a co-captain in RUMS WFC.

I hope to:

• Maintain consistent communication with sponsors throughout the year, by sending update reports, to encourage extending their support to RUMS

• Reinforce an inclusive environment within RUMS by increasing financial support to The RUMS Networks for them to broaden their outreach

• Coordinate with the SU, UCL and RUMS clubs & societies to promote package deals for events at the same venue to reduce ticket prices

• Finetune the RUMS Conference to address concerns within RUMS and voice areas requiring support to the SU
