Christopher Savvas

Good day gentlemen and Keshan.

After a year spent impersonating Dominic Cummings, and pulling the strings behind the scenes, I thought it was time I emerged from the shadows and ran for president in my own right. There are countless reasons why you should vote for me, and I think this is best demonstrated through expressive dance. Unfortunately, this is an online vote, so I have settled for poetry as my favoured medium.

I wished to start this here motion,

With a display of art of more commotion.

Alas deluded channels have forced absurd,

Me to present to you, my bid in spoken word.

Andrew, your run was good,

But never the calibre I could.

Tyrannical fear not! I shall never be,

Upholding our treasured democracy.

As your leader I’ll push RUMS along

To finish each game with a song,

Of sisters, brothers, also rippers,

A most unusual collection of figures.

Glory, this year, our club has grasped,

But unto the next we will reach beyond our past.

As pres at helm I’ll guide us on,

To treasures, radiating more than before have shone.

To vote for any other than I,

Is surely to condemn our club to die,

To wither, to fall to absurdity,

So think wisely; cast your vote for me.

I’d like to thank our resident bard Peter Fentiman for help with the poem

Thank you, God bless
