Candidates

Gabriel

I am standing with the aim to promote a culture of commitment in the club and to focus on restoring both the first and second team to a standard of truly competitive rugby. I would also aim to make a drive to engage with current members, and attract more new members at the start of next year. In addition to attracting new members I would strive to cultivate a positive and progressive relationship with the UCL Student's Union in an effort to attract more support for UCL Men's Rugby. I would also like the opportunity to promote more events based around the club such as a dinner or ball at the end of the season. As president it would also be a priority of mine to ensure that regular trainings run, they are of a high standard, and that we have a place to train. The inclusive and welcoming environment of the club is also of great importance to me and I would seek to maintain the atmosphere that already exists within the club. With regards to varsity I would aim to promote the game as an event as much as possible and explore restoring the game to the Allianz. I believe that as president I could make a positive impact on the culture and running of the club along with bringing some of my own new ideas to progress the club as much as possible.

Benjamin Jones

With the klub's previously tarnished reputation and all the hard work this year's kommittee has put in to change that, I see being president as an opportunity to kontinue this effort and to work towards reinstating UCL men's rugby as one of the university's leading societies. I dream of freshers arriving at UCL frothing at the prospect of having a khance to play for this prestigious klub and being proud to represent it week in week out, on and off the pitch. Having played for the klub for almost a year now, I have a personal konnection to it that I am kertain we all share and which would make me more than proud to represent it and defend its name on all stages.

I would make it my priority to work with the other kommittee members right from the start to kontinue to improve every aspect of the klub, from replacing the kit bag to submitting an irrefusable bid to get varsity back at the Allianz. Admin to me is as integral as joué is to the Klub. It does not phase me and I am prepared for it.

Having observed this year's president I am aware that this position requires a kertain level of maturity and stewardship. This I believe is what sets me apart from other kandidates. I see this role as a serious job and will treat it as such. I believe my determined approach to my studies will seamlessly transfer into all the work this position involves.

Cormac P C Oliver

I am standing for this position as I believe I can utilise my skillset to consolidate the needs of this great club. From maintaining a healthy and stable relationship with the union through open and honest communication to building on the current inclusive and welcoming nature of this team by giving everybody a voice, I will strive to amplify this club's illustrious reputation. I am confident that I can swiftly resolve any inter-committee conflict through a diplomatic approach and voicing everybody's opinions, making sure that everybody shares the same goal of ensuring that this club grows exponentially into a treasured asset of University College London.
