UCL Men’s Rugby, despite the ongoing C****D-19 pandemic, is committed to providing the opportunity for players of any ability or experience to enjoy playing university rugby. Commencing in September 2020, the club will get to know and integrate new members into the UCL Rugby set-up. We will use term 1 to prepare for the delayed start of the BUCS league in January 2020, playing a series of competitive fixtures in an intra-UCL competition (involving the Medics Rugby Club), with scope for external fixtures at the end of term. From January we will be running two teams in the BUCS leagues, with the aim of a highly competitive first XV season, culminating in the Varsity Fixture against Kings, and a second XV offering opportunities for players of more diverse experience.

BUCS matches will take place on Wednesday afternoons, with home games at Shenley and away games in and around the South East.

We strive to be an active social society both virtually and, adhering to updates in guidelines, in person. On top of this, Men’s Rugby also offers the opportunity for involvement in the wider UCL community; whether it’s partaking in fundraising events with other societies for charities such as Movember, or engaging with campus-wide initiatives, there are always opportunities to represent the club off the pitch.

We encourage anyone of any ability and background to get involved; regardless of previous playing standards, UCL Men’s rugby offers opportunities to meet new people, both on and off the pitch, and develop your rugby in a close (c. 2m) environment.
