I have enjoyed being a member this year, and feel I have a lot to offer. As a 2 year masters student I will have lots of time to work on the society. I plan to create more competitions, and have applied coding seminars similar to the AI society.
We have ran a group entering competitions this year on kaggle and stock pitches, which everyone really enjoyed. I hope to extend this and let more people take part.
If elected, I am to build upon the fantastic work of this year’s committee by:
- Running biweekly social events in different venues across London, to allow like-minded individuals to meet and engage ideas
- Building up the quant analyst division by assigning directors and analysts
- Running more regular hackathons and challenges to increase engagement and provide people with the opportunity to practice quantitative finance under supervision
I have experience with how this society is run, as I was on the 2021/2022 committee, so I hope to take this experience forward and bring this up-and-coming society to new heights!
Thank you for reading my manifesto and feel free to get in contact with me to ask my any questions about my ideas by contacting me at [email protected]

I view Quant Society as a space where everybody, irrespective of level of background knowledge, can find ample opportunities to discover the world of Quantitative Finance.
Quant Society currently has a limited reach as its events get overshadowed by more prominent societies. If elected President, I aim to give the society a makeover by strengthening three areas- social media outreach, frequent industry and alumni networking and industrial collaboration. A prominent presence on Instagram and Facebook would significantly increase membership numbers. A larger membership would allow us to diversify industrial partnerships and lay the groundwork for future collaborations. Organising more in-person events with industrial sponsors will allow our members to make great first impressions and master their networking skills. Networking within the society will be made easier by conducting frequent, free socials. I also aim to set up a structured committee of motivated individuals who are as passionate about exploring Quant as I am.
I am motivated to transform QuantSoc into a motivating space where students are inspired to think, learn and initiate. Having served as the first-year rep for the EEE department, events executive for UCL WES and workshops executive for UCL EWB, I am well-acquainted with the challenges that leadership and representation entail. I am confident that my determination can accelerate the progress of this society and make it more active and vibrant.
I believe that my interests in technical disciplines, and in particular the realm of quantitative finance, will enable me to identify the most opportunities for the members of our society to further their understanding in subjects related to this discipline. I have participated in the events (hackathon and Kaggle competition) with UCL's team and can most certainly conclude that the only bad thing about these events is that there aren't enough of them. Attempting to identify potentially interesting speakers on introductory topics in the field is of utmost concern to me as a lot of knowledge (especially technical) is much easier to digest when a master in the discipline is explaining it, therefore lectures will be held more often and on a wide range of poll-approved topics. The first pub night has not even been held as of day of writing, and there are three weeks remaining till the end of this term. Thus, the majority of my focus will be to activating the society and providing its members with as many avenues for growth as possible. I also have an idea in mind regarding a much more "hands-on" opportunity to learn and practice the discipline for the most enthusiastic individuals, and will reveal them upon election (the only hint I will give out is that there will be the option of becoming a "quant analyst"...).
Thank you for taking the time to browse over my nomination. I believe in us. Vote for me.
