Kaja Posnik

Hi everyone! My name is Kaja, I'm a Neuroscience student at UCL and my home town is Grojec, south of Warsaw :).

A position of responsibility requires passion for change, engagement and effective communication. It calls for creativity, teamwork and resilience - qualities I aim to develop every day and would continue if trusted with the position of President of society.

Taking from my experience as a Prefect, public speaker and a person who loves getting involved in initiatives, I believe that talking to each other is the basis of resolving conflicts and discussing ideas. If elected as the President, I would ensure anyone could share worries with me and I’d try my best to help.

I would work with other members to carry out music showcases, pierogi sales (the heart of Polish culture), poetry nights with works of Szymborska and more, as well as movie screenings to show the international community at UCL the beauty of our culture and create real impact. One way I’ve been doing it so far is by teaching Polish to international students!

I am grateful to the Polish community for such a warm welcome to UCL. I would love to continue spreading this feeling. I am not a competitive person and believe in the power of collaboration, so feel free to challenge me with all types of tasks, I’ll try my hardest at them! I don't judge and am really open to constructive criticism.

I would be honoured to guide the society into a great future. See you around :)).

Olga Drygala

Hello Polish Society!

I'm Olga and I'm running for the President of the Committee for 2022/2023.

I moved to the UK in 2019 through BAS Poland and joined UCL in 2021, where becoming a part of the Society showed me how bright, ambitious students make it every time stronger and better developed.

Having been your Events Officer while also working in the UCL Leaders Logistics Team strengthened my will to lead the Society next year and the competencies I will need to do so.

My biggest wish and goal is for the Polish Society to remain a diverse, supportive, and welcoming network. I hope that we will continue promoting Poland and its culture while not only strengthening our relationships but also building new ones through internal social events, collaboration with polsoc.london, and organising the UCL Leaders Conference.

The Polish Society has played an important part in my university life, and if successful in my candidacy, you can rest assured that I will give it my very best.
