I think social netball is such an important part of the club, it’s such a fun way to get new people involved, who’ve maybe never played before and might find diving right into full training stressful. And the social aspect of being able to come and meet new people who are a similar level to you. Especially with so little having happened in person last year societies wise It has been really nice to come out to the Monday sessions and meet new people this year. I’d love to get involved in making sure that the social netball next year can be just as enjoyable and inclusive for everyone as it has been for me this year.

I’m Tilly and I would love to become your Netball Development Officer next year.

This year I’ve really enjoyed being the 3s team captain and seeing everyone get back on the court. Netball has given me a key support network at UCL, and I hope to create that environment for new members next year!

I’d really like to continue the great work that our previous Netball Development Officer has done to make social netball an inclusive and welcoming environment by making social netball feel included as part of the wider club with our competitive teams. It’s been great to see social netball girls coming along to more socials and having a greater connection to the club as a whole. Our social team is vital to ensuring the element of fun is a big part of the club, and I want to work with other members of the committee to increase social members’ involvement in other activities in the club as well as socials on a Wednesday.

The mobility of our social team is very important to sustaining the club, but I want to extend outreach further and get some true beginners of Netball involved! At UCL there is a large international student population who have never played Netball. Having those outlets for beginners to learn and play the sport is really important to increasing diversity within the club and keeping people active.

Tilly xoxo

Hey guys! Netball has been a really huge part of my uni experience so I’m running to be your next Development Officer. Having been a committed member of the club for the last year (and loved every minute) I believe I understand the responsibilities and importance of ensuring being part of UCNC is accessible no matter your ability. For me netball has been much more than just playing in our teams and I believe that the fact playing competitively and how time consuming it can be should not stop anyone from becoming part of the family! I would be committed to organising fun sessions to be enjoyed by players of all abilities, my Level 1 Coaching Qualification would allow me to do this successfully. I also coached a successful U16’s team weekly before university. I believe it’s important to create a fun and sociable environment where we can have fun playing. I am a friendly, welcoming person and I would continue to bridge the gap between social and competitive teams. There has been amazing turn out at Wednesday socials and I will continue to promote the attendance of the social netball members at weekly Scala socials as a great way of meeting other club members and enjoying uni life to the full. Yet, I understand that Wednesday socials aren’t for everyone so I would introduce monthly pub/food trips scheduled for after training. Thanks.
