MedTech Society: Treasurer

Hello everyone! My name is Sohum and I'm finishing my second year in Mathematical Computation. I'm running for treasurer and would love it if you could all take a minute to read my manifesto.

Being treasurer means planning the budget and logistics for all the events that we run so that our members can get the best out of them.

I have been a member of MedTech committee for two years.

In my first year as a web officer, I have been helping with the MedTech website and our AI in medicine series, of which I have hosted a couple of talks!

In my second year as a technology officer, I have been helping with the Mentorship programme and the coding workshops

I have gained insight into the inner workings of the society by maintaining regular contact with those in the senior team as well as other teams.

If elected my aims would be to:

• Increase funding by securing new partnerships with sponsors
• Run more events in collaborations with societies within UCL as well as MedTech focused societies in other universities in London to increase quality and outreach
• Ensure that there are more masterclass series so that members can develop their skills in Medtech related areas

Doing what's in the interest of the society and its members is my mandate and that's all that matters. Promising commitment to the post and its responsibilities, I hope to be considered for the role of being Treasurer.
