Medical Society: Treasurer

Hi, I’m Telma and I hope to be your Treasurer for next year! I greatly enjoyed my time as the MedSoc secretary for 2021/2022 and I would love to continue in the committee. I believe that, as a secretary, I gained a greater understanding of the amount of commitment and organisation needed to carry out all the administrative work. Hence, I feel confident to deal with all the paperwork that the Student Union requires. During my role, I was also the first point of contact between external sponsors and the society. Through this, I was able to build a relationship with some of our existing sponsors, which I hope to maintain as the treasurer, along with reaching out for new opportunities. This prompt, effective communication will also be beneficial with both the Student Union and all of the MedSoc committees who will be relying on me to ensure their events run smoothly and that they receive their reimbursements on time.

If I am elected your treasurer, I will ensure that the billing for each MedSoc event is a clear as possible so you know how funding was allocated. Furthermore, I will aim to meet with the various subspecialties Chairs frequently in order to review their allocated funding and discuss their future events. Importantly, I hope that I will be able to actively support all of the MedSoc events that we prepare next year!
