Raunak Jain

Hello everyone! I’m Raunak and I’m looking to run for Vice President of Medical Society as well as the conference lead.

I have previously helped organise the UCL Anatomy Society NACU for 2 years in a row and so understand the extensive planning and organisation conferences require to be successful. Previously serving as the general medicine chair for UCL Medical Society and treasurer for UCL Anatomy Society, I have further developed these skills.

My aims for the conference:

1. Cover an overarching view of medicine and surgery, with each subspeciality division having its own event or tutorial within the conference.

2. Have a wide variety of talks for all years, areas of interest.

3. Include other niche areas of medicine, for example genomics, AI, robotics.

Other aims as VP:

1. Provide a support and educational service, where a network of senior medical students or clinicians could provide academic support and research advice.

2. Furthermore, I would encourage competitions and educational quizzes with a similar template to the Anatomy Cup by UCL Anatomy Society and the Kahoot quizzes I have helped organise within medical society.

3. I would further create a shadowing scheme where UCL Medical Society members could shadow clinicians similar to the UCL Surgical Shadowing scheme.

I'd be happy to hear everyone else’s suggestions and implement these as well. I'm always accessible and feel free to email me with any questions!
