Medical Society: Anaesthetics Lead

Despite being a fascinating and hands-on field, anaesthetics doesn’t seem to get talked about as much as others. As a candidate for Anaesthetics Lead, I hope to:

• • Recruit a subcommittee
• • Increase the amount of outreach through social media campaigns and talks from different kinds of anaesthetists
• • Start a dialogue about how anaesthetics as a specialty, particularly pain medicine, can start playing a role in ensuring equitable care
• • Ally with other subcommittee chairs in starting to deconstruct the toxic environment around medicine and demystify postgraduate training for students
