Malaysian Society: Treasurer

Hello, my name is Jay and I'll be running for treasurer of UCL Malaysian Society! My previous involvement with the society was being part of the Representative Director Program, having the positions of Organising Chairperson (OC) for the Christmas event and Vice OC for Senior Ball. Being part of the program gave me a sense of community and belonging and I wish to further my experience and extend it to our members.

My main goals if elected as treasurer would be:

1. Efficient and responsible allocation of funds

2. Ensure expenses and reimbursements are recorded efficiently

3. Provide proper financial support and advice to the BOD to ensure funds are spent wisely

I think I am well suited to this role as previously being involved with my secondary school's computer science charity event, I was in charge of handling the donations and preparing the financial budget for the event. Also, I was extensively involved in my school's chess club in which I was responsible to write the budget statements for the club. I'm confident that I have the relevant skills and experience to ensure that society funds are well managed!
