Hello!
I’m Heer, a 2nd year Natural Sciences student and I’d love to be your KnitSoc Social Media Officer! Ever since learning how to knit & crochet ten years ago, I’ve been hooked (ba dum tss). KnitSoc's weekly socials have been a highlight of my calendar since my first year, and now I’d like to give back to my fellow knitters and crocheters.
As the former Social Media Officer for the Natural Sciences Society, I have hands-on experience in creating engaging posts across various platforms. I also managed the freshers' group chat, and took on the challenge of rebranding the society, redesigning the logo and theming to give it a fresh and recognisable look.
In this role, I want to attract more members to this incredibly welcoming society and community through consistently creating interactive and engaging content which also keeps current members in the loop with our events. Moreover, I would like to showcase the incredible creations made by our talented society members on our social media platforms to celebrate their skills and creativity. Additionally, I know that it can be difficult for beginners to find great resources, so I’d like to set up a master list of yarn shop recommendations, free pattern websites and introductory tutorials.
All in all, I’d love to have the opportunity to help spread a love of all things knitting and crochet! <3
