Having studied at UCL for more than four years now and having helped organise several different societies in that time (including the SSEES Society during the Pandemic), I believe that I am qualified to lead the Ex-Yugoslav Society and streamline its administrative activities. I have already been helping the existing committee organise events and reconfigure administrative structures that had lapsed. I plan to continue that work if I am elected, and to further improve upon the society's current situation in the following ways:

  1. Help network with other regional societies at UCL and similar societies across London universities.
  2. Create a new Facebook and potentially a society website in order to keep members better informed of events and expand the possibilities for the society.
  3. Ensure that more events are held in general during term-time, whether they are socials, cultural events, or guest speakers.
  4. Establish a society newsletter within a more formalised mailing list system to keep members aware of not only society updates, but also events held outside of the society by embassies or cultural centers, in concert with other methods of communication with members.

I will organise these additions to the society by the end of Term 1 at the very latest. This is not empty optimism, nor over-ambitious confidence, but a promise to look after the society and not to let anything slip away to the detriment of it and its members.
