Know a club, society, or student volunteer who's made a difference? Nominate them ❤️ for an award.

Volunteering is a big part of the student culture here at UCL, with around 2000 students taking part in community projects each year. Every Autumn, we elect a Volunteer Officer and Volunteering Reps to make sure the voices of our student volunteers are heard, and to improve the volunteering experience for everyone.

Jingyi Ye

Jingyi Ye
Hi! I’m Jingyi! I’m a 2nd year BSc Economic student who love dancing and anime. I’ve been engaging with Students’ Union UCL Volunteering Service since my first year of university. The volunteer opportunities I found from the Volunteer Service made me more familiar with London and to better know about the needs of different people. I am happy to listen to your voice, no matter whether it is questions, concerns or advice. I am willing to be your guide in volunteering and make your volunteering experience better. Let's build a better volunteering community at UCL!

If you have anything you want to share with me, feel free to contact me via email! My email is [email protected]

Hi everyone! I’m Yalin, one of the Volunteering Officers this year, job-sharing with my friend Jingyi. I’m a second year Economics student and, outside of academic studies, I’m a passionate volunteer! I’ve volunteered as a tutor in many secondary schools, participated in social hackathons and organised bake sales to fundraise for charities. This year, I hope to work with many of you, clubs and societies and the Student’s Union to help shape another year of amazing volunteering at UCL!

If you have any questions or suggestions related to volunteering, feel free to get in touch with me!  [email protected]

Volunteering Reps

India Deans-Smith
Hi! My name is India, and this year I'm a volunteering rep. My goal is to improve student access to and enjoyment of volunteering at UCL. I've been involved in volunteer work for the past three years, and I've gained a lot from it, whether that has been meeting new friends, improving my community, or developing skills like leadership and communication. There is a project out there for everyone, no matter your passions, and I believe that everyone can benefit from volunteering.

Emails about volunteering are always welcome; you can reach me at [email protected].

Toma Ogawa
Hello everyone! I’m Toma and I am a Volunteering Rep this year. I was first introduced to Volunteering Service at UCL via the volunteering fairs and I highly encourage others to attend it! I am usually volunteering at UCH, and I hope to help students engage and be more involved in volunteering. Your suggestions and opinions are important so please free to contact me at [email protected]. I look forward to working with all of you to improve the student volunteering experience at UCL!
